Alessandro Petrini spent most of this new century taking photos, shooting videos and
playing music. Creativity is a crucial word in his life.
He deals with landscape photography and videos (he specializes in time-lapse and
hyper-lapse films). The Scottish series (Samhla, The Message, Alba the Epic
Scotland, Sense of Walden and Finding Icarus), Time Waves project (Eriu – Ireland
and Tenerife), Twofold Nature and Moonlight Dream (the only landscape video entirely
filmed by the moonlight and made in collaboration with Sony). He’s been awarded in
several contests around the world, from Views of the world in Montreal to Outdoor film
festival in Ostrava, from Memorial Maria Luisa in Oviedo, to Bosnia & Herzegovina
tourism film festival.
Another prestigious and important field of his work is Motorsport. He’s been working as a
Photographer/DOP for international brands such as Lamborghini and Roger Dubuis.
There’s a long time collaboration with one of the most important international music
instruments companies – Markbass. He shot videos/photos with some of the most
important musicians (Marcus Miller, Greg Howe, Kiko Loureiro, Richard Bona,
Micheal League) and attended the prestigious NAMM show in Los Angeles.
As a trained musician he creates original scores for his videos and standalone music as
well. His new album Untold Dreams, will be out in June and will feature former Dream
Theater keyboardist Derek Sherinian.
Since 2004 he’s been teaching photography and filmmaking because sharing his
knowledge is one of the most rewarding aspects of his work. He’s been invited as a
speaker in several events in different countries. In Emerald, Queensland, during the
Gems of the Outback conference, he showed his Dreamlands captured around the
world in the last 10 years
